Small things like these

Someone moved the bookmark

Someone straightened out the corner of my page, and it all moved.

Just like in the teenage years.

It seems the ground I am walking on resonates and fluctuates

irrespective of my age.

The key to my bones

Is a hollow echo in the ancient stones scattered across my land.

I want to change my history

Shake the shoulders of the tree of life.

But I am blunted not honed

They've disenfranchised what was left of me.

I am falling down into the void

Faster and faster.

My lover puts her hand upon my face

I let go the handle of this train

It's the kind of move that makes you glad you are part of the human race.
