Anushka Shenoy

The singing beach

I will never feel this way again.

The sand is soft beneath my feet,

I glide across its shifting stories.

It may never be so warm again.

The air I breathe cracks in my lungs,

It may never be so clear again.

I stop to think, and breath, and look,

I may never run again.

I sit for inspiration by the pounding waves;

Their anger and beauty courses through my veins.

We might never fall into harmony again.

On this beach, in these footsteps,

My mind and body are one.

They will never be that way again.
